TPLO cost FAQs.
How much does TPLO surgery cost in Michigan?
TPLO surgery at WMVO is $3,950 per leg — flat fee. That includes the surgery, anesthesia, post-op X-rays, and your first recheck. No hidden costs at discharge.
What's included in the TPLO price?
Our flat fee covers: pre-surgical bloodwork review, general anesthesia, the TPLO procedure, post-op X-rays before discharge, your first follow-up recheck, and take-home medications. Physical therapy is separate if you choose to pursue it. Dogs over 120 lbs may run closer to $4,500 because of increased implant and medication needs.
Is TPLO covered by pet insurance?
Most surgical pet insurance policies cover TPLO. We provide itemized estimates you can submit to your insurer. We recommend calling your insurance company before surgery to confirm coverage limits.
Do you offer payment plans or financing?
We do not offer in-house payment plans. We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, and CareCredit. Payment is due at time of service.
Why is TPLO at WMVO less expensive than at a referral hospital?
Referral hospitals carry enormous overhead: 24/7 staffing, multi-department facilities, and corporate management. WMVO is a single-focus surgical center. We don't have those layers — and that savings gets passed to you.
What happens if my dog needs both knees done?
It's common — about 50% of dogs who tear one CCL will eventually tear the other. We'll discuss staging the surgeries (typically 6–12 weeks apart) and pricing for both at your initial consultation.
